How did it all begin............
People were delivering their cats to shelters because they didn't know how to change unpleasant behaviors, according to Betsy Lipscomb, a feline behaviorist, cat lover, and creator of SmartCat, in the late 1990s. Cat owners were dissatisfied with their cats scratching on furniture and carpeting, which was a natural behavior for them. The majority of people believe that removing claws is the sole remedy; however, this is not the case! This was a wake-up call for Betsy. They've established Cats International, a free helpline dedicated to assisting people with their cat behavior problems. Betsy has fielded countless of calls from cat owners seeking for help over the years.
Betsy began collecting wooden fence posts from her Wisconsin farm at an early age. She fastened them to solid wooden bases and wrapped them with sisal rope. Her sole purpose in writing these postings was to distribute them to parents who needed assistance with their children's scratching habits. People were taken aback when they discovered that the scarf pole solved their difficulties. These posts were extremely popular, and Betsy was able to get up to 50 months free of charge as a result of them.
